Royal Decree 23/90 Declaring Public Benefit Status for the Governorate of Muscat Development Project

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

and Royal Decree 64/78 Issuing the Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit and its amendements,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The project for the renewal and development of the Governorate of Muscat—specified in the attached note and masterplan—is hereby deemed a public benefit project.

Article 2

The competent entities may seize, through direct execution, land and real estate necessary for the mentioned project, and all establishments on them, in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law on the Expropriation for Public Benefit.

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 22/90 Ratifying the Amendments to the Charter of the International Maritime Satellite Organization (INMARSAT) and Its Operating Agreement

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of Royal Decree 26/75 Issuing the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State and its amendments,

Royal Decree 88/80 on the Accession of the Sultanate to the Convention on the International Maritime Satellite Organization (INMARSAT),

and the amendments to the charter of the mentioned organisation and its operating agreement approved by the general assembly of the organisation at its sixth extraordinary session held in London from 17 to 19 January 1989,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The mentioned amendments to the Charter of the International Maritime Satellite Organization (INMARSAT) and its operating agreement are hereby ratified.

Article II

All relevant entities, each within its mandates shall undertake the necessary measures to implement this decree.

Article III

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 94/89 Authorising the Signing of the Agreement on Cooperation and Exchange of Experts in the Field of Civil Service Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia,

and the mentioned agreement signed in Muscat on 10 October 1989,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The mentioned Agreement on Cooperation and Exchange of Experts in the Field of Civil Service Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia is hereby ratified.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

and the draft Trade and Economic Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Minister of Commerce and Industry is hereby authorised to sign the mentioned Trade and Economic Agreement Between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force from the date of its issuance.

Ambassador Ali bin Salim bin Bader Al-Hinai—Our ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt—is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the United Republic of Tanzania.

Article II

Ambassador Awadh bin Bader bin Marie Al-Shanfari—Our ambassador to the United States of America—is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Bolivia.

Article III

Rashid bin Nasser bin Sulaiman Al-Lamki—Our ambassador to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria—is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Article IV

and Royal Decree 87/87 Appointing Representatives of the Share of the Government in the Board of Directors of the Oman Flour Mills Limited Company SAOG

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The text of article 1 of the mentioned Royal Decree 87/87 is hereby replaced with the following text:

The following are hereby appointed members of the Board of Directors of the Oman Flour Mills Limited Company SAOG as representatives of the share of the government:

– Director General of Commerce at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

– Director General of Trade Relations, Research, and Investment at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

– Director of Tourism at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

– Director of Corporate Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

– Director of Loans and Investment at the Ministry of Finance and Economy.

Article 2
