We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

In honour of Our armed forces and in commemoration of Our resounding victories over the forces of evil and aggression on the eleventh day of December 1975,

after perusal of Royal Decree of 1972 Determining the Dates of Official Holidays in the Sultanate,

and based on the opinion of the Diwan of Legislation,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The eleventh day of December of each year is called “Armed Forces Day.”

Article 2

The mentioned Armed Forces Day is hereby an official holiday for all members of the Armed Forces throughout the Sultanate.

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its publication.

after perusal of Royal Decree 46/76 Establishing the Port Services Corporation,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The following are hereby appointed as representatives of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman on the Board of Directors of the Port Services Corporation:

1. Minister of Transportation Chairman of the Board of Directors

2. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transportation Member

3. Undersecretary of Financial Affairs Member

4. Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry Member

5. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Member

6. Inspector General of Police and Customs Member

7. Director General of Labour Member

Article 2

The following are hereby appointed as representatives of the private sector in the mentioned corporation:

1. A representative of Qais Omani Establishment

2. A representative of Suhail and Saud Bahwan

3. A representative of Al-Waleed Establishment

4. A representative of Al-Zubair Establishment

5. A representative of Al-Zawawi Trading Company

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

Out of Our desire to support the production of Omani bosoor, to ensure stable living conditions for Omani farmers, and to raise the standard of living of bosoor producers,

and based on the matters presented to Us by the Development Council,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The Minister of the Affairs of Our Diwan is hereby authorised to enter into an agreement with suitable traders to ensure their commitment to purchase all bosoor products offered to them by Omani citizens at appropriate fixed prices agreed upon in accordance with the recommendations of the Development Council, effective from the harvest of 1976.

Article 2

The Directorate General of Finance shall disburse additional subsidy to Omani bosoor producers whose crop is received by the contracted trader in accordance with the preceding article. The Directorate General of Finance shall establish a system for reviewing receipt certificates, and the subsidy amounts must be disbursed either directly by it or through one of the banks it designates.

Article 3

The amount of the subsidy stipulated in the preceding article is hereby set at fifty Rial Omani per bahar of bosoor.

Article 4

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its publication.

after perusal of article 3 of the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State 26/75 and Royal Decree 13/76 amending it,

after perusal of the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against the Safety of Civil Aviation, signed in Montreal on 23 September 1971,

and based on the matters presented to Us by the Minister of the Foreign Ministry,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

The accession of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman to the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against the Safety of Civil Aviation signed in Montreal on 23 September 1971 is hereby ratified.

Article 2

The competent entities shall implement the provisions of this convention, and it comes into force for the Government of the Sultanate of Oman on the date of publication of this decree.

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette.

after perusal of the Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State 26/75, as amended by Decree 13/76,

the Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in accordance with annex B of the mentioned Law Governing the Administrative Apparatus of the State,

and based on the matters presented to Us by the Minister of Commerce and Industry,

have decreed as follows

Article 1

A directorate general named the “Directorate General of Specifications and Measurements” is hereby established at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, reporting directly to the undersecretary of the ministry.

Article 2

The following two directorates are hereby attached to the mentioned directorate general:

(a) The Directorate of Standards and Metrology Control.

(b) The Central Laboratory.

Article 3

The Minister of Commerce and Industry shall take the necessary measures to implement this decree.

Article 4

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

The competent entities shall implement the provisions of this convention, and it becomes effective on the date of publication of this decree.

Article 3

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette.
