Royal Decree 59/2024 Issuing the System of Signing Contracts and Financial Commitments of the State

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,

Royal Decree 48/76 regarding the Signing of Foreign and Domestic Financial Transactions,

and the Financial Law promulgated by Royal Decree 47/98,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The provisions of the attached System of Signing Contracts and Financial Commitments of the State hereby apply.

Article II

The aforementioned Royal Decree 48/76 is hereby repealed, as well as all that is contrary to the attached system, or in conflict with its provisions.

Article III

This royal decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force after 30 (thirty) days from the date of its publication.

Royal Decree 58/2024 Promulgating the Media Law

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,

the Printed Material and Publishing Law promulgated by Royal Decree 49/84,

the Law on the Censorship of Artistic Works promulgated by Royal Decree 65/97,

and the Law of Private Radio and Television Establishments promulgated by Royal Decree 95/2004,

and after presentation to Majlis Oman,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The provisions of the attached Media Law hereby apply.

Article II

The Minister of Information shall issue the executive regulation of the attached law and shall also issue the necessary decisions for implementing its provisions, and until they are issued, the existing regulations and decisions continue to operate to the degree that they do not contradict with the provisions of the attached law.

Article III

The aforementioned Printed Material and Publishing Law, the Law on the Censorship of Artistic Works, and the Law on Private Radio and Television Establishments are hereby repealed, as well as all that is contrary to the attached law, or in conflict with its provisions.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.

have decreed as follows

The aforementioned agreement is hereby ratified in the form attached.

Article II

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 52/2024 Promulgating the National Records Law

We, Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State,

the Police Law promulgated by Royal Decree 35/90,

the Cybercrime Law promulgated by Royal Decree 12/2011,

the Statistics and Information Law promulgated by Royal Decree 55/2019,

and Royal Decree 51/2024 Establishing the National Records Centre and Determining Its Competences,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The attached National Records Law hereby applies.

Article II

The Inspector General of Police and Customs shall issue the executive regulation of the attached law after the approval of the Council of Ministers, and until it is issued, the existing regulations and decisions continue to operate to the degree that they do not contradict with the provisions of the attached law.

Article III

All that is contrary to the attached law, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article IV

This decree must be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the day following the date of its publication.
