Royal Decree 29/2013 Issuing the Civil Transactions Law

Arabic

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and after presentation to Majlis Oman,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The provisions of the attached Civil Transactions Law shall apply.

Article II

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force after three months from the date of its publication.

Royal Decree 31/2013 Ratifying the Agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and the Portuguese Republic on the Mutual Exemption of Visas for Holders of Diplomatic, Special or Service Passports

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

and the Agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and the Portuguese Republic on the Mutual Exemption of Visas for Holders of Diplomatic, Special or Service Passports signed in Muscat on 2 Safar 1434 corresponding to 15 December 2012,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The aforementioned agreement is hereby ratified in the form attached.

Article II

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 25/2013 Appointing a Non-Resident Ambassador

Arabic We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96, and the Law Governing the Foreign Ministry promulgated by Royal Decree 32/2008, and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

His Highness Ambassador Sayyid Qais bin Salim bin Ali Al-Said, Our ambassador to the Republic of Turkey, is hereby appointed a non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Ours to the Republic of Georgia.

Article II

Royal Decree 27/2013 on the Accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management

We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman

after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96,

the Law Governing the Foreign Ministry promulgated by Royal Decree 32/2008,

and the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the aforementioned agreement is hereby approved.

Article II

Competent entities shall deposit the instruments of accession to the convention in accordance with its provisions.

Article III

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 24/2013 Transferring the Subordination of the Oman Centre for Traditional Music from the Ministry of Information to the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science

Arabic We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96, Royal Decree 51/97 Adopting the Organisational Structure of the Ministry of Information, and Royal Decree 52/2012 Establishing the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science and Issuing Its System, and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

All allocations and assets of the Oman Music Centre are hereby transferred to the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science, and the employees of the aforementioned centre are also hereby transferred to it.

Article II

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article III

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance. Issued on:  17  Jumada Al-Thani 1434 Corresponding to: 28 April 2013

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The accession of the Sultanate of Oman to the aforementioned agreement is hereby approved in the form attached.

Article II

have decreed as follows

Article I

The aforementioned petroleum agreement is hereby approved.

Article II

and the Supplementary Protocol Amending the Agreement between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of South Africa for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income, with Protocol signed in Muscat on 19 Dhu Al-Hijja 1432, corresponding to 15 November 2011,

and in pursuance of public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The aforementioned supplementary protocol is hereby ratified in the form attached.

Article II

This decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and comes into force on the date of its issuance.

Royal Decree 19/2013 Assigning Some Competences

Arabic We, Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman after perusal of the Basic Statute of the State promulgated by Royal Decree 101/96, the Law of Free Zones promulgated by Royal Decree 56/2002, and Royal Decree 38/2011 Abolishing the Ministry of National Economy, and in pursuance of  public interest,

have decreed as follows

Article I

The Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning shall exercise the competences and authorities of the Secretary General of the National Ministry of Economy (abolished) in the Free Zones Committee stipulated in the aforementioned Law of Free Zones.

Article II

All that is contrary to this decree, or in conflict with its provisions, is hereby repealed.

Article III
